Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the day-to-day maintenance of fleet, site operations, and the budgetary oversight for same dept. This role reports directly to the General Manager, and the duties of this position consist of weekly, monthly and annual reports to same GM. The Maintenance Manager will be accountable for all contractual requirements, by leveraging his/her prior technical and organizational expertise.


  • Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers
  • Properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments
  • Manage the financial / accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats
  • Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook
  • Must have technical competence with light / medium / heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times
  • This candidate should have thorough knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair methods and practices
  • Must adhere to the strict maintenance plan developed by MV and our client

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least five (5) + years Fleet Maintenance experience
  • Must have at least (3) years of Transit Management experience, preferably urban public
  • Diesel experience is required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with paratransit bus maintenance preferred
  • Certifications as required for a Level "A" Mechanic position
  • ASE or manufacture's certifications
  • Experience in alternative fuel: LNG CNG or electric
  • Knowledge of all applicable safety rules, regulations - FTA, FMCSA, and DOT
  • Familiar with windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages
