Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Ambassador to educate the riding community on transportation options in Santa Clarita, and to provide assistance to operators and passengers for safe transportation, as well as, to monitor passenger activity on the vehicle while enroute.


  • Assist passengers with directions, offer transit information and answer questions in order to build passenger confidence in Santa Clarita's Transit services.
  • Maintain order on vehicle during transport and proper client monitoring.
  • Act as liaison between client agency personnel and operations staff and receive in-person feedback on service quality.
  • Effectively communicate problems or situations and proactively working to resolving issues that affect agency clients, caretakers and other passengers.
  • Aide vehicle operator in the event of accident or passenger emergency in securing the vehicle and safety removing all passengers where necessary.
  • Diffuse difficult situations in a positive manner and with respect to the needs of the passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch or central office personnel.
  • Assist operators in navigating and finding locations where necessary.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Reliable in attendance.
  • Team player and helpful to staff, management, and peers.
  • Assist the call center, if required by service needs.
  • Maintain a safe work area and a focus on safety to reduce the opportunity for injury to self or other employees.

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous data entry, dispatch, customer service, supervisory and/or operating experience desired but not required.
  • Customer service, map reading and directional skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Data entry experience and general knowledge of windows-based computer operating system and Microsoft Office package.
  • Knowledge of service area.
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly the English language - basic knowledge of Spanish may be required depending on contract location and requirements.
  • Able to use multi-line phone system and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
