Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Community Outreach Recruiter who will focus on building relationships within the community, while acting as the liaison between internal stakeholders and community outreach programs. He/she will participate in job fairs or hiring events, as well as cultivate relationships and engagement activities with community organizations, workforce development agencies and candidate sources that result in partnerships and employment opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support a community engagement program to maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Fill critical vacancies by identifying and attracting top talent by partnering with the community, chambers, and local organizations to build a fluid candidate pool.
  • Establish local city leader relationships, participate in local events and partner with local programs that help people get back to work
  • Cultivates a talent pool on an on-going, proactive basis through research, sourcing, and networking.
  • Works in partnership with and influences stakeholder groups locally and across all functions to ensure current and future needs for recruiting programs are communicated.
  • Proactively researches new trends and best practices, understands local business connections, influencers and community programs.
  • Builds, maintains, and manages relationships within the Talent Acquisition and supported divisions.
  • Implement candidate attraction strategies (social media, traditional methods and utilizes local community leaders to promote hiring) to reach as many candidates as possible.
  • Works closely and build strong working relationships with managers and leaders across the organization to understand current and future needs.
  • Provide weekly status updates and reports about open positions and recruiting activities to managers and leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

  • Three (3) years' experience in Recruitment, ideally Community Outreach Recruitment.
  • Excellent follow-up, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must have a general understanding of the industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Ability to develop solutions for a variety of recruiting needs and works on projects to support growth of the Community Outreach Recruitment program.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to carry the communication at all levels
  • Must be willing to travel locally around the community.
  • Experience partnering with the local community including colleges, technical/vocational schools, government programs, diversity entities, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently to achieve goals and proposed targets.
  • Confident, self-driven, dynamic, and high achiever.
  • Working knowledge of ATS Systems, iCIMS preferred.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
