MV Transportation is now hiring experienced Diesel Technicians in your area!

Who You Are:

As an A level Diesel Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and complete major and minor repairs to the fleet. Our fleet consist of 23 fixed route buses, 2 hybrid/diesel trolleys, 5 paratransit vans, and various other support vehicles. You will be required to be able to service and repair of steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems. Successful applicants must be able to work safely, perform part analysis on damaged parts and assist in inventory control or other duties, as necessary.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Diagnoses vehicles to determine root causes of defective operation of vehicle systems and components.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of vehicles
  • Execute major and minor repairs of defective components or vehicle systems.
  • Document all activities in MV's fleet management system.
  • Maintain work environment in an organized and safe condition.
  • Mentor lower skill level technicians.

Talent Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Combination of at least three (3) years of verifiable training and experience in automotive and/or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems to perform diagnostics and document work performed.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment a Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements. In house training available.
  • ASE certifications preferred
  • Work well in a team environment and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
