Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Electronics Fleet Services Technician who will conduct, install and test, and repair all designated electronic components located on the inside and outside of the bus fleet. The noted components will include, but are not limited to Mobile Eye, Drive Cam, and Tablet MDT. The person filling this position applies knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment functionality and applies skills in restoring equipment to full operation.

This position requires extensive travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs all assigned mechanical and electrical systems including programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Works closely with company and City personal to identify issues or concerns regarding the proper functionality of all assigned equipment.
  • Maintains company and City required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Assists and trains other maintenance and other technical-level employees.

Talent Requirements:

  • High School degree, however, any formalized technical training is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of verifiable experience in the electrical and/or mechanical field is required.
  • In depth knowledge of computer experience is required, including the operation of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
