Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager who is responsible for all aspects of the facility including but not limited to, structure, paint, windows, doors, HVAC, electrical, janitorial and fuel management systems, managing and documenting the regular preventive maintenance / repairs of the facility and documenting of those efforts on a computer based system. He/she will also be responsible for understanding the terms of the MV, client contract requirements regarding the interface of facility maintenance efforts. The Facility Maintenance Manager shall have direct over site of staff members (I.E. Facility Maintenance Technician/s).

Job Responsibilities:

The Facility Maintenance Manager under limited supervision of the General Manager, must act autonomously in developing daily personal work assignment to accomplish the workload of not only the maintenance of the facility and its appearance but management of the facility preventive maintenance program, direct over site of staff members and the following:

  • Perform facilitate and document all facility maintenance PMI services
  • Diagnose facility issues for repair or communication to subcontractor and/or the client including, structural electrical and HVAC systems
  • Prepare and submit records of work performed both manual and computer based software as required
  • Record all parts and supplies used on equipment
  • Participate in client, contract or regulatory inspections and meetings
  • Be familiar with statutes of and regulations pertaining to his/her trade
  • Ensure safety policies and procedure are followed in the facility
  • Keeps a clean and safe working environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Two year technical degree desirable
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience managing large facilities
  • Strong understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Strong understanding of / experience with computer based Facility Preventative Maintenance Software
  • High level experience managing staff members
  • Must be willing and able to work varied shifts, weekends & holidays as needed/assigned
  • Required to provide tools of the trade
  • Must have a functional understanding of the design, operation and maintenance of commercial office building as well as the facility and components in a heavy duty vehicle maintenance shop
  • Must become familiar with advance technologies including alternative fuels
  • Must become proficient in the use of facility diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting techniques
  • Familiar with company policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
