Job Description

MV IT Transit Planning Manager works with MV's Fixed Route divisions to optimize the efficiency of Driver scheduling utilizing Optibus technology. The position will be responsible for analyzing operator schedules to maximize profitability and reduce overall driver costs. The primary activity will be producing run cuts for both operational and pricing purposes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Optibus related projects companywide to include creation of best practices, making efficiency recommendations, and developing divisional needs analyses for fixed route operations
  • Creation of run cuts for various divisions and departments company wide
  • Creation of relief vehicle schedules to minimize capital needs
  • Creating run cuts for business development for pricing RFPs
  • Creating best practices for data extraction and import into Optibus
  • Other duties may be assigned

Talent Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Five (5)+years' experience in Fixed Route management is required
    • Two (2)+ years of Fixed Route run cut experience
    • Two (2)+ years of experience with Fixed route run cutting technology tools
    • Two (2)+ years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of Optibus On Schedule is preferred
  • Strategic mindset with ability to provide deliverables and build strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve project success
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization with diplomacy at different levels
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and conflict resolution to daily tasks
  • Must be well-organized detail-oriented, and disciplined
