Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Parts Clerk who is responsible for controlling the requisitioning of parts, supplies, and services for the entire Maintenance Department.

Job Responsibilities:  

The Parts Clerk responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed in the storeroom and shop.
  • Review daily work product with Maintenance Manager, Supervisor’s and ensuring compliance with all SOP’s.
  • Track and analyze parts usage and inventory stocking levels.
  • Take necessary action to remedy any deficiencies.
  • Meet with the Maintenance Manager and staff daily on parts issues including no stock holds, fleet failures, long lead time on parts and other issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Manager to ensure needed parts and inventory levels are maintained at efficient and optimum levels. 
  • Identify part numbers and provide descriptions with the intent of supplying or ordering parts for fleet maintenance technicians utilizing software and catalogs. 
  • Communication with OEM on problems identified with parts. 
  • Work closely with vendors and vendor pricing for optimal efficiency. 
  • Create and process purchase orders in the fleet maintenance software for stock orders, out of service buses or special requests.
  • Perform all shipping and receiving duties both domestic and international, as required. 
  • Ensure all parts tracking and PO information is up-to-date and accurate at all times.
  • Ensure all admin tasks are handled as they relate to EAM and other parts software as required.  
  • Manage and process parts cores, as required.  
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventories and obsolete parts surveys, as directed. 
  • Manage departmental assignments ensuring all items are completed on time. 
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in managing department finances within approved budget. 
  • Ensure parts system is maintained according to standards acceptable to the division and client. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  
  • Bus parts experience desirable. 
  • Must possess a clean driving record and reliable employment history with an emphasis on attendance and punctuality.   
  • Must become familiar with company policies and procedures. 
  • Applicant must maintain a neat appearance and demonstrate the desire to work with contractor staff, manufacturers and vendors.  
  • Must be or become proficient on MS Office (Word and Excel), and other software as required.  
  • Must possess excellent organization skills. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail.  
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. 
  • Maintain acceptable attendance level. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean and professional work area. 

Starting pay rate: $20.81/hour
