Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an individual to provide administrative duties and entry to mid-level technical support for divisional office. The individual shall be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Administrative Clerk/Information Technology Technician is responsible for handling various administrative and technology issues related to a transit environment and supporting corporate infrastructure.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly newsletter.
  • Assist with sending out invitations, setting up lunches, picking up items from various stores, to make sure event runs smoothly. Events range from small to large.
  • Maintain photo contact list.
  • Keep IT asset list up-to-date.
  • Maintain bulletin board.
  • Keep phone list updated.
  • Take pictures of individuals for various acknowledgment walls.
  • Prepare monthly birthday card list, labels, count and distribution and annual Holiday cards.
  • Keep non-revenue fleet binder updated as well as register all non-revenue vehicles at the DMV.
  • Maintain organizational charts.
  • Put away office supplies and keep office supply room organized.
  • Keep refrigerator stocked as well as break room supplies.
  • Maintain databases.
  • Relieve receptionist for lunch.
  • Assist with division's website.

IT Technician Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop, server and network support for client operations according to Service Level Agreements (SLA). This includes, but not limited to, desktop, printer and server repair, network maintenance, help desk tickets, disaster recovery and other projects as assigned.
  • Support of telephone, T-1, fax and/or DSL lines.
  • Responsible for supporting local technologies related to transit operations, such as; vehicle communication and video surveillance systems.
  • Manage servers at local division; application and file/print.
  • Meet and interact with city agencies providing reports and updates for local divisional office.
  • Close interaction with the client's IT department.
  • Thorough understanding of computer, server, network, printer and peripheral hardware
  • Experience supporting Windows XP, 7, Server 2008 and Microsoft Office applications
  • Maintain company Verizon Nextel and Tablets.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft product, including Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, VOIP, LAN, and WAN.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with desktop, server and network management tools.
  • Familiar with Cisco switches and routers.
  • Ability to maintain regularly scheduled attendance.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Nevada Driver's license.
  • Ability to instruct personnel in personal computer operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with a diverse group of people.

Work Environment:

Office location; can sit for extended periods of time or work in the field around large vehicles; moderate to heavy lifting. This position works Monday through Friday during normal business hours with on-call support as needed for computer and system related issues including early morning, evening and weekend hours. Travel as needed to different states, also requiring evening and weekend support. Must be at least 21 years old.
