Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Bilingual Reservationist to take reservations from eligible passengers collecting all necessary data required to schedule trips accordingly. Phone calls will need to be answered promptly and hold times kept to a minimum, entries entered completely and accurate.

Part of the responsibilities will be:

  • Answer phone calls for the permissible time period
  • Provide system information for current and new passengers on accessing the transportation service and using it effectively
  • Data entry; passenger file information and specific trip request, negotiating request times
  • Communicate passenger cancellation in a timely manner to scheduling, dispatch and other providers
  • Communicate effectively with operations staff regarding scheduling or passenger issues
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and effectively
  • Excellent customer service
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Reliable attendance
  • Team player and helpful to staff, management and peers

Talent Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Previous clerical, data entry, customer service experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Customer service
  • Data entry
  • Knowledge of service area, general knowledge of windows-based computer operating systems
  • Ability to read, write and speak English/ Spanish a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels
  • Able to use multi-line phone system
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required
  • Paratransit experience a plus
