Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide analysis and strategic advice with respect to contracts, litigation/dispute management, settlement negotiations and corporate governance. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, including customer agreements, lease agreements, equipment/vehicle purchase and lease agreements, vendor agreements, subcontracts, services agreements, and consulting agreements.
  • Assisting with labor and employment matters, employment contracts, workplace compliance, dispute management, and litigation.
  • Assisting with responding to administrative inquiries and charges.
  • Partnering with outside counsel on various legal matters including litigation management, and attending mediations, and trials and assisting in formulating early resolution strategies.
  • Assisting with the Company's corporate governance function, including maintaining corporate records (minutes/resolutions, stock ledger, etc.).
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as needed.

Talent Requirements:

  • JD degree from accredited law school.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years law firm or in-house experience.
  • Some initial training in a law firm is strongly preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Texas.
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
