Job Description

MV is seeking a Deputy General Manager of Fleet Maintenance who will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional to manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of the bus operation. He/she will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved, and duties included will consist of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports. He/she must be able to properly manage a budget for maintenance program.

Talent Requirements:

  • Must have transit experience to be considered.
  • Experience working with 500+ buses within the last year.
  • Supervision of 200+ plus employees. (fleet techs/service workers/cleaners)
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years fixed route bus maintenance management experience and work within transit and fixed route within the last year.
  • ASE or manufacture's certifications a plus.
  • Experience with Diesel, CNG, and Alternative fuels a plus.
  • Previous passenger transportation in current project or similar environment preferred.
  • Must be able to manage and interface with client.
  • Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
  • Ability to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
  • Effective communication with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft outlook.
  • Must have technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Must display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact at all times.
  • Technical experience with fixed route/coach transit bus maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
  • CDL class B with appropriate endorsements preferred.

MV Transportation has been closely following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for personal protection equipment (PPE), which now includes gloves and hand sanitizer in our divisions. Our Procurement team was able to secure an order for more than a half-million masks and other personal protection equipment, which have been sent to our divisions.
