MV Transportation has been closely following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for personal protection equipment (PPE), which now includes gloves and hand sanitizer in our divisions. Our Procurement team was able to secure an order for more than a half-million masks and other personal protection equipment, which have been sent to our divisions. MV Transportation is seeking a Group Transit Instructor who is tasked with training individuals on the utilization of public transportation. The Group Transit Instructor will educate individuals on a wide range of skills including trip planning, street crossing, bus and train travel, map and schedule reading, and safety skills, while utilizing public transportation.


  • Conduct group presentations
  • Establish relationships with professionals in the field, community and advocacy organizations
  • Establish referral process
  • Complete in-person intake and assessment
  • Provide one-on-one, individualized field training
  • Schedule training at the time and location of the specific routes requested
  • Instruct individuals on transit skills
  • Instruct individuals on how to travel routes including navigation and way-finding strategies
  • Instruct individuals on self-advocacy
  • Create lesson plans that are appropriate for individuals of different learning levels
  • Conduct outreach to develop materials
  • Provide in class and in-the-field training to professionals
  • Complete all reports and paperwork including but not limited to; initial intake, goal setting and plan, progressive evaluation, pre and post-test, final and follow-up report, satisfaction survey

Talent Requirements:

  • Group Transit Instructor / travel training experience, preferred
  • Experience working with people with a range of disabilities
  • Experience working with disability and/or community advocacy organizations, preferred
  • Familiarity with the transit agency system, preferred
  • Familiarity with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office and related software
  • Ability to work flexible hours in all weather conditions
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated training skills, comfortable leading groups of people
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow for effective working relationships
