Job Description

MV Transportation a leading transit provider with a multi-location environment is seeking a talented Human Resources Manager to work closely with the Operations/Safety/Fleet teams on employee engagement and partnership.

*Position is located in Oceanside, CA.

The successful candidate will provide day- to-day human resources generalist support in the following areas:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Operations.
  • Ensure that proper employment procedures are being followed at operating location. Such as Recruiting, on-boarding, Employee Relations, Labor, Benefits and Compensation.
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated, and being followed; respond to questions as needed.
  • Administer all employee benefits and handle open enrollment and inquiries on payroll.
  • Will assist with compliance issues; experience with issues such as accommodations, interactive discussions, wage/hour law is highly preferred.
  • Work with the divisional administration staff to meet recruiting, new hires, on-boarding processing, etc.
  • Assist with employee retention and employee relations matters.
  • Review disciplinary and termination documentation to ensure that proper procedure was properly documented and followed.
  • Engage with employees on labor matters including investigation. Union experience is key.

Talent Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a related field of study is preferred.
  • Five (5) + years Human Resources experience.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
  • Ideal candidate will have working knowledge with union and hourly unionized population.
  • Must have solid Employee Relations coupled with California population.
  • Must possess strong computer skills (MS Suite).
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have exceptional skills in an hourly employee based environment.
