Job Description

MV Transportation has been closely following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for personal protection equipment (PPE), which now includes gloves and hand sanitizer in our divisions. Our Procurement team was able to secure an order for more than a half-million masks and other personal protection equipment, which have been sent to our divisions. MV Transportation as a company remains strong and we will be well-positioned to move forward even during these trying times. The safety and well-being of our employees and the passengers we serve remains our #1 priority!

The Human Resources Manager will manage all human relations programs and administration.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The following is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the essential functions of the position, but rather a general description of some of the requirements necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position. The Human Resources Manager must be able to perform the following tasks, among others:

  • Recruitment
  • Administration of benefit programs
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Required reporting
  • Training and wellness programs
  • Drug and alcohol testing program
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Return to work and statutory leave programs
  • Serve on the pension committee and manage the Contractor's performance management programs
  • Oversee the administration and integrity of STRADA program
  • Serve as a labour relations specialist with responsibility for education, training and outreach to employees to improve working relationship between the Contractor and its employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • University or Bachelor's Degree desired
  • Must have at least three (3) years experience in fixed route/paratransit or BRT transportation management with at least 300 employees
  • Must have direct experience in managing a Human Resources department and possess relevant education and qualifications
