Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Insurance Analyst for program analysis to include policy renewals and administration, contract and bid review for risk and insurance issues and language and pricing, and risk administration, including invoice payments, reconciliation and first party auto claim resolution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Program Administration to include completing insurance policy and self-insured renewal applications annually, inbound and outbound certificate of insurance coordination and compliance, coordination of auto id card distribution.
  • New business risk and insurance coordination - RFP and contract review, bid response based on coverage and loss evaluation.
  • Risk Finance Administration to include premium and expense tracking throughout the year, as well as, invoice review and approval within limits, monthly exposure data collection.
  • Manage first party auto claims - collect information on totaled first part damage, get appraisal, negotiate value for reimbursement to operating entity.
  • Manage property claims - collect estimates on damages to property and coordinate accrual and payment of self-insured or insured losses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or specialty in Risk Management preferred.
  • Associates in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years relevant experience in a risk management department, carrier or broker supporting policy review and administration, including contract review, renewal applications, exposure gathering, invoice payments, etc. Experience as an intern in risk management or insurance will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able assess the needs and priorities of a situation and effectively complete tasks through engaging internal and external resources in a timely manner.
  • Must have solid organization skills and ability to learn new skills quickly and coordinate and complete multiple projects concurrently while keeping timelines on track.
  • Experience working with or for risk managers, brokers or carriers and understand relevance of insurance coverage needs for an organization, transportation experience a plus.
  • Accounting experience a plus to evaluate monthly expenses compared to budget.
  • Highly motivated to work independently and driven to succeed and progress essential.
  • Quick learner and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and shift priorities as needed.
  • Contract review experience for indemnification language and insurance requirements.
  • Excel - moderate user (two years' experience).
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations in PowerPoint strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS), certificate tracking system and accounting systems strongly preferred.
