Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Operations Manager who will provide support, leadership and direction to the Roseville division. He/she will oversee the daily operation of our transportation contract while adhering to all MV policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision and scheduling of all Drivers, Dispatchers, Call Center Agents and Utility personnel, with indirect authority over Road Supervisors.
  • Maintain daily contact with client personnel (ATO) to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee all Call Center functions, including the preparation and submission of all required reports.
  • Effectively utilize the Trapeze scheduling system to manage daily DAR operations.
  • Investigate and resolve all customer related concerns utilizing the Passenger Call system.
  • Responsible to dispense performance related discipline as required in accordance with the local CBA and company policy.
  • Assist with the creation and administration of the Run Bid process.
  • Ensure attendance records are up to date and accurate for all assigned personnel.
  • Work with client Maintenance personnel to resolve all vehicle related matters.
  • Monitor and manage daily on-time performance indicators.
  • Interact with MV Corporate personnel to resolve all employee related issues.
  • Assist with the oversight of division safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the selection and training of all new personnel within the division.
  • Must be a willing to work flexible hours, which may include long days, weekends and occasional holidays.
  • Participates in local labor and employee relations activities.
  • Work closely with GM, AM and SM to ensure all daily goals are being met.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

  • Must possess a minimum of 2 (two) years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably within the transit industry.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class B license with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements.
  • Ability to speak and train in a public format.
  • TSI and ETP certifications are a strong plus.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Must be able and willing to develop and motivate all assigned personnel.
  • Must be organized, dedicated and focused toward the success of the operation.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to contractual obligations stipulated in the Client and Union agreements.
  • Must possess a solid knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Trapeze experience preferred.
  • Experience managing within a fast paced environment.
  • Must possess excellent time management, solid analytical skills and the ability to mult-task.
