Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Payroll/Admin Clerk who will perform duties as assigned with an emphasis in the following areas:

  • Upload/enter all employee payroll time/time sheets for the assigned division on a daily basis ensuring accuracy of employee time data
  • Enter and process payroll cycle on time each week for assigned divisions on weekly/biweekly basis, including regular pay, phone stipends and tip pay
  • Perform compliance duties of assigned division, including W-4 Withholding forms, Direct Deposit changes, and E-Pay requests
  • Process manual checks if needed
  • Collaborate with HR, Garnishment, Payroll processing and Vacation departments
  • Coordinate with division management from General Manager to Vice Presidents regarding payroll status
  • Prepare specific reports required for final time sheets for division
  • Address employee concerns and handle tax and garnishment questions
  • Process terminations and communicate with HR in a timely manner
  • Ability to meet strict Payroll deadlines is a must - noon CST on Wednesday each week
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Perform various payroll administrative duties such as scanning and indexing
  • Other duties as assigned

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college course work in Accounting is a plus
  • Must have high-volume data entry, payroll processing and clerical experience
  • Above average knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions
  • Professional appearance and demeanor are requested
  • Adherence to MV company employee policies are required
  • Attendance according to local policy
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area
