Job Description

MV Transportation has been closely following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for personal protection equipment (PPE), which now includes gloves and hand sanitizer in our divisions. Our Procurement team was able to secure an order for more than a half-million masks and other personal protection equipment, which have been sent to our divisions. MV Transportation as a company remains strong and we will be well-positioned to move forward even during these trying times. The Public Relations Manager directs and monitors all customer service activities on behalf of the Contractor.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The following is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the essential functions of the position, but rather a general description of some of the requirements necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position. The Public Relations Manager must be able to perform the following tasks, among others:

  • Investigate and resolve all customer complaints and concerns to the satisfaction of client, and provide client with a detailed response to each customer complaint within client's standard response time
  • Oversee the lost and found activities to ensure the Contractor complies with the Lost and Found Policy
  • Assist client with cooperative marketing activities including charters, marketing events, social media, Bus Operator update meetings and newsletters from client
  • Ensure that all Revenue Service Vehicles are fully stocked with current customer information material prior to entering service each day
  • Provide input into the development of the Bus Operator training program and recommend the immediate retraining of Bus Operators or others involved in customer disputes
  • In consultation with client, oversee communications to staff and the public regarding any circumstances affecting the Service, including labour issues
  • Communicate to both union and non-union staff regularly regarding services, the implementation of new policy and procedures, and the transit bylaw
  • Act as the spokesperson and/or communications contact person in situations of emergency or labour unrest
  • Other duties as assigned


  • University or Bachelor's Degree desired
  • Must have at least three (3) years experience in fixed route/paratransit or BRT transportation management with at least 50 employees and 150 vehicles
