Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Risk and Insurance Manager to manage the oversight of the insurance program coverage and placements, Actuarial reports and financial impact, budget and actual expenses as well as the risk management information used for analysis within the organization.

Position is located in Dallas, Texas. Relocation assistance is not available.

Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Program Oversight - to include coverage evaluation, renewal applications, exposure data collection, contract review, certificate of insurance evidence, auto id cards, bid response based on coverage and loss evaluation, with engagement and approval of Chief Risk Officer as needed.
  • Actuarial Report Management - to include raw data collection and validation, claim performance trends impacting actuarial evaluation, reporting on and performing executive presentation on financial impact to the organization, coordinating claim program trends to impact costs with workers' compensation and liability claim managers.
  • Risk Finance - to include budget and expense tracking throughout the year as well as invoice review and approval within limits.
  • Risk & Safety Information Management and Analysis to include Risk Management Information System (RMIS) implementation and management. Details include integration of Claims, incidents, Drive Cam, Safety Training Tracking, OSHA, policy management, contract tracking, safety and actuarial trends to form dashboard and analysis for Ops, Safety, Finance, Claims groups on a daily, weekly and monthly as needed; implementing and monitoring claim cost allocation.
  • Manage first party auto claims.
  • Manage property claims.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) to 10 years' relevant experience in a risk management department leading the functions of insurance administration including renewal applications, exposure gathering, placement coordination; Risk Management Information Systems Management (RMIS), including dashboard analytics; Risk Financing including budget and actual management, actuarial management and financial trending responsibility.
  • Insurance placement expertise across multiple lines.
  • Analytical ability and aptitude in the form of sophisticated analysis and dashboard outputs.
  • RMIS implementation and management, including integration of correlating information.
  • Actuarial analysis, including reserve analysis and impact on balance sheet.
  • Expense control experience, including expenses analysis for impact on P&L.
  • Contract review experience for indemnification language and insurance requirements.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Associates in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.
