Job Description

The Maintenance Shop Foreman for El Paso will be responsible and accountable for directing cost-effective preventative maintenance and repair activities for all vehicles and equipment associated with the contract; participates in managing major and minor repairs to include overhauls and periodic system checks; assists in managing the ongoing fleet cleaning program.

Talent Requirements:

  • Must have a current Driver license.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision.
  • Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
  • Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
  • Must be able to manage the financial / accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft outlook.
  • Must have technical competence with heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
  • Must have two (2) to four (4) years management experience.
  • Must have six (6) years experience as a full time journey level mechanic.
  • Must have ability to obtain ASE within two (2) years.
  • Texas CNG certificate required within 90 days of employment (based on testing availability).
  • Experience as a certified "A" Mechanic preferred.
  • This position is considered safety sensitive and subject experience with transit bus maintenance required.
  • Must perform all and any other assigned duties as requested.
