Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Training Supervisor who is responsible for recruitment, curricula development, and administration of education and training programs in both formal classroom and on-the-job training environments in support of staff development and bus operations and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Hiring

  • Initiate, oversee and maintain recruitment advertising
  • Maintain current applications, new hire packets, training and personnel files
  • Maintain Application Flow Log
  • Schedule and perform interviews with applicants
  • Administer pre-employment drug and BOSS tests and background checks
  • Ensure all required paperwork and documentation is complete and sent to Corporate Office

Training of Bus Operators

  • Perform classroom instruction which meets or exceeds MV and client requirements
  • Create, implement and maintain Behind the Wheel Training program
  • Schedule Behind the Wheel Training
  • Work with senior Operators to ensure all Routes are covered in Cadetting phase of Training
  • Create, implement, and maintain effective Cadetting and Training schedules
  • Maintain all training records to include T-02 Cards and DL 260
  • Administer DMV ETP Program to include Pre-Trip, Road Test, and documentation
  • Continuing training as needed to ensure the success of new Operators

Staff and Maintenance Training

  • Collaborates with managers and supervisors to determine training needs
  • Locates or develops programs to meet local staff and maintenance training requirements
  • Administers or conducts training courses and programs
  • Other duties as assigned by Safety and Training Manager

Talent Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • TSI or DOE Certified Instructor
  • Minimum of two (2) years safe driving experience in public transit vehicles
  • Current or past experience as a Behind the Wheel Trainer
  • Current or past experience as a Classroom Instructor
  • Comfortable and able to speak in front of groups of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications
  • Able to perform all Operator duties
  • Clean driving record and possess a current Class A or B California Driver's license with air brakes and passenger endorsements
