Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Utility Worker to assist with the upkeep of the Fleet and Bus Shelter. He/she will also clean, sweep and wash all buses and Bus Stop Shelters on a weekly basis and complete detailed documentation of activities related to the noted functions. Position is 20-25 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays.


  • Clean and detail transit fleet of service cars, buses, trucks, vans and other related equipment.
  • Ensure all Bus Kiosks and interior advertising inserts are clean and up to date.
  • Clean Bus Shelters with hand tools (mop, bucket, etc..) or utilizing power equipment (bus washer, vacuum).
  • Check, replenish and record all lubricants and fluids on fleet vehicles as required.
  • Ensure vehicle emergency equipment (fire extinguisher, body-fluid kit, first aid kit) is fully stocked and functional.
  • Park all transit vehicles according to facility parking plan.
  • Document all new fleet damage and communicate to management.
  • Ensure all work areas are maintained according to OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Inventory and order adequate bus was supplies. Store all supplies in an organized and clean fashion.
  • Provide assistance as necessary to Management or other Transit personnel as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Commercial Driving License preferred, or the ability to obtain CDL.
  • General knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations related to shop and office conditions
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for the local fleet type
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • General mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and write and understand basic directions
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
