Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Utility Worker who is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are completely fueled and ready for service at various times of the day. Other duties include:

  • Ensure vehicle interiors are cleaned according to contract.
  • Ensure vehicles are parked according to facility parking plan.
  • Responsible to ensure all fleet damage is documented and communicated to appropriate personnel in the case of unreported damage.
  • Ensure fuel island is maintained and kept clean, any spills contained immediately and reported to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible to ensure work area is maintained according to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Talent Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver's license.
  • Will be required to obtain a commercial Driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
  • Primarily responsible for working in a shop/lot environment.
  • Ability to move about the facility and parking lot.
  • Ability to sit in the Driver's seat for short periods for the purpose of relocating vehicles.
  • Ability to climb up and down while boarding and deboarding vehicles.
  • Ability to stand while fueling vehicles.
  • Ability to stoop, bend and crouch for the purposes of inspecting vehicles.
  • Ability to reach up and down and side to side for the purposes of cleaning vehicles' interior.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme hot or cold and in adverse weather conditions including rain and sleet.
  • Ability to manipulate small items such as fluid containers inside the engine compartment.
  • Must be able to be subjected to vehicle noise while at the facility.
  • Must be able to be subjected to occasional vehicle exhaust fumes and/or odors, and road dusts and/or mist.
  • Must be able to write reports in a coherent, legible manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
