Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Employment and Litigation who will be responsible for and provide advice and counsel to management, and staff in matters related to traditional labor and employment law, employment contracts, workplace compliance, dispute management, and general litigation, as well as engage and oversee the work of internal and outside counsel. The AGC will also oversee the company's Driver Qualifications and Wage and Hour Compliance functions.

Talent Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school
  • Five (5) years of broad legal experience focused on employment law and litigation
  • Experience in a nationally recognized law firm is strongly preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Texas
  • Progressive experience in a large corporate environment of 10,000 or more employees based across the country
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Willing to take on risk & compliance issues
  • Must have experience creatively designing and delivering cost-effective legal services
  • Experience with unions and traditional labor a plus
  • Experience with insurance and insurance defense a plus
