Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an Operations Supervisor who shall effectively oversee and mitigate operational deficiencies, and work with the Dispatch staff to ensure the best quality of service is being provided to the customers that rely on us for transportation. Operations Supervisors will also issue disciplines, as needed.

The Operations Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain professional demeanor and appearance
  • Monitoring and auditing of the Radio Dispatcher's entries
  • Monitoring of the performance of routes/employees and ensure all runs are covered
  • Work with both Window and Radio Dispatchers to assist in improved service
  • Utilize time to conduct administrative work as assigned
  • Create and complete reports from the system as needed and email to the appropriate contacts
  • Notify Management of any "serious" events that will require immediate actions
  • Notify Management of mission critical events that could hinder service
  • Provide information and recommend actions to management of information obtained
  • Notify/document/follow procedures for Accident/Incident processes
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by his/her supervisor
  • Establish a working knowledge of all MV Employee Handbook and CBA, and other Company Policies and Procedures

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a public transportation or fixed route transit system
  • Knowledge of all system routes
  • Familiarization with all client provided equipment (Radios/OrbCad)
  • Technological understanding of company provided programs and procedures
  • Understanding of client policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of MV Transportation Employee Handbook and CBAs
  • Knowledge of MV Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Good telephone and computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with the client and management
