Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking Director of Treasury who will oversee company cash management, debt, budgeting, and treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and analysis, electronic funds transfers, journal entries, bank account maintenance, record retention, reconciliations, and cost of service analyses. All duties pertain to driving profit by reducing cost of treasury / cash services and efficient processes. Reports to Chief Financial Officer, and is based at company headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end close and all accounting and reporting functions for the Treasury department
  • Oversees majority of aspects related to Company's banking relationships, including coordinating opening and/or closing of new accounts, as required, as well as serving as one of the company's primary liaisons with our banking partners
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for multiple GL accounts, and all revolver and term loan principal and interest charges, commitment fees, swap interest charges, and letter of credit fees
  • Manage leasing and financing projects of approximately $10 to $50 Million per year
  • Manage large scale domestic and international wires and account transfers
  • Manage all check depositing
  • Create daily financial reports to company management on liquidity and A/R position, as well as explanation of cash flow fluctuations
  • Manage the procurement of standby letters of credit and surety bonds
  • Evaluate daily cash position including, downloading daily bank reports, initiating wires and ACH transfers
  • Anticipates company's borrowing needs and minimizes costs to the company through timely, accurate and efficient forecasting
  • Execute investment trades during periods of cash surplus or request advances or payments against the revolver during periods of cash deficits
  • Ensure daily cash activity is reconciled to facilitate month-end journal entries
  • Open or close bank or other related accounts, ensuring documentation is kept
  • Conduct analyses of Banking, merchant services, and armored car costs and minimize to the extent possible
  • Act as a key liaison between auditors and other operational groups
  • Develop and maintain Business Recovery Plan to ensure that the mission critical functions will function in the event of unexpected market/business interruptions
  • Reviews Corporate Treasury controls and risk environment to ensure effective control environment is in place to mitigate associated risks
  • Manage hedging activities (derivative trading) related to interest and fuel risks
  • Supervises Treasury team

Talent Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA preferred
  • Five (5) + yrs experience in debt and cash management, including scale where they've managed a line of credit >$100m and over 100 bank accounts
  • Demonstrated use of business forecasting, modeling, planning and financial analysis
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate reports, findings and analyses to Board and company executives
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills
  • Organized - able to juggle multiple competing complex projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working with others, including outside auditors
  • High level of detail-orientation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required
  • Proficient with Windows and advanced Excel Skills (IRR, NPV, Vlookups, Pivot tables, etc.). Experience with MicroStrategy, Lawson, or Trapeze is a plus
  • Prefer Certified Treasury Professional and/or CPA
