Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR functions at our Transit client site in Redmond, WA. In this position, the ideal candidate may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: organizational change, employee relations, succession and talent management, recruiting, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity programs. They have overall responsibility ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The HR Manager also works with Union leadership to resolve any issues and provides guidance to the management team as it relates to progressive discipline actions.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Operations. Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Relations, Labor, Benefits and Compensation.
  • Responds in timely fashion to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
  • Handles questions and communications regarding human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Monitors and advocates for employee engagement and performance management initiatives to build skills and reduce turnover by analyzing data and making recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Acts as change agent supporting MV culture, values and changes in process, technology and organizational structure to accelerate MV's future success.
  • Facilitates & provides training to the workforce.
  • Administer all employee benefits and handle open enrollment and inquiries on payroll.
  • Will assist with compliance issues; experience with issues such as accommodations, interactive discussions, wage/hour law is highly preferred.
  • Work with the divisional administration staff to meet recruiting, new hires, onboarding processing. Assists with AAP hiring goals, required compliance and outreach.
  • Supports the hiring and termination process of all employees according to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains working relationship with Labor Relations team to ensure aligned messaging to unionized employees.

Required Education and Experience

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field (or equivalent work experience) as well as 5+ years of experience in Human Resources.

Demonstrated experience in the following areas is preferred:

  • PHR/SPHR
  • Employee Relations
  • Unionized environments, grievance handling
  • Policy Administration
  • Performance Management
