Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a Vehicle Service Worker who will perform fleet detailing/cleaning, light facility maintenance and will assist in the maintenance department with light mechanical duties including oil changes, tire changes, fluid replacement and minor body repair. This position will report to the General Manager, with oversight provided by the A-Technician.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs light duty repairs on electrical, such as replacing light bulbs and
  • Remove and replace tires/wheels.
  • Minor engine component removal and replace procedure, such as alternators, power steering pumps, fuel pumps, fan clutch etc.
  • Fluid and filter changes on engine, transmission, differential, cooling system, etc.
  • Provides janitorial services for the operations center areas.
  • Writes repair orders legibly with detailed repair information.
  • Ensures all vehicles are ready for service at various times of day.
  • Daily tops off fluids in all vehicles.
  • Performs all vehicle cleaning including both interior and exterior cleaning per contract.
  • Provides maintenance coverage when A-Level Mechanic is unavailable.
  • Documents and communicates all fleet damage to appropriate personnel in the case of unreported damage.

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Work well with others.
  • Must be able to work on both weekdays and Saturdays at varying times.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Available for training.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Basic automotive or heavy-duty repair courses either in high school or other, i.e. junior college or trade school.
  • Understands the basic automotive/heavy duty systems.
